why don't you just undo the engine mounts and jack the engine up?

Yeah Dan came round and we managed to do naff all, we'd start one thing and find round bolts done by someone else :angry: :angry:
Good thing is I found the top struts caps £6 a corner from TPS  :grin:

Anyways here's a pic of the engnine blocking the wishbone bolt  :sad:


Think the only way is as tweed says, take it off the mounts and lift the engine a bit.
Quick question, will I have to undo both the both the back and front mount or just the one of them?

Yeah pretty standard on all MK3's and Polo's (6n) with Polo engines to have to loosen the engine mount and jack the engine up.

Only a 13mm then a 15/16/17mm bolt IIRC.

Did mine a little while ago, the sumps sit back for some reason.

stupid ass design, as it was all so easy on my gti I figured there must of been something wrong. Not heard from him for a while so I guess its all going ok :P

Does anyone know what the bit circled below is?


It seems to be stuck to the brake caliper along with the rubber boot, but it looks like a metal sleeve?
Only reason I'm asking is I want to cut through this and the caliper bolt so I can get the caliper off.

Loosing patience with these seized bolt things, and having to do major workarounds. Should be so simples
