I'm going to let these forums guide me. but complete nut and bolt rebuild - everything off, beadblasted (where possible) and put back together (badly!)

I am a complete VW noob, never even thought about owning one. never worked on cars let alone VW so this is a top down learning experience.

(good job its project car)

Some More pictures day 3/4 into the project...

and yes the number plate does look like "BIG VIRGIN"

41p down tha back seat? Nice!! I found a big doobie down the back of my seats lol. What you using for bead blasting as i'm at the stage where i'll be removing my 8v and stripping it down to paint.

For a noob you have picked the best car to work on. I'm doing a full rebuild so i'll be on here alot if you need any advice but so far your work has been spot on so i doubt you will have any trouble.

Also in regard to your pics if you paste in the IMG code into your thread they will appear instead of having to click links. Although I would reccommend to scale them down in size a bit first.

i have a very large industrial media blaster at work - takes 2 seconds - its a wet one too, just had to make sure i stayed away from mating surfaces of the covers.

appriciate ANY help, especially with engine / styling / bodywork / brakes / suspension / exhaust pipes / interior (think that covers it all)

as for pictures, yeah, i will in the future, im just too lazy to resize. (The thumbnails are kind of handy though.)

No worries. I have a spot beat blaster that works off the compressor but its only for doing wee bits at a time and not that powerful so I guess i'll just have to use good old elbow grease and make do with what i have but and industrial bead blaster would be the thing to save loads of time. My build thread should cover pretty much everything over the coming months. My biggest concern is painting, I can do it but don't really have the enviroment to get the best finish. Worry about that when I come to it as that will be the last thing I do.
