Installing a UK gamma head unit in a Import golf
« on: 20 April 2005, 22:35 »
Im trying to install a working Gamma head-unit into a Import golf. There is no power when connecting it.  Is there some
power difference between Euro cars and UK cars?

If so,  is there a way round this?

Cheers

I doubt the power is different between UK and mainland european cars.

Is the headunit a known working unit?

Its got a aftermarket Sony head-unit which currently works fine and just wanna swap it out for a Gamma so it looks standard.  If the Sony works then i would have thought the fuses are fine.

Any more suggestions?

i'm sure when i put a sony h u in my golf a while ago i had to swap around the red and yellow live wires to keep the memory. not sure if this will help. are the sony wires connected on the the original vw black plugs. have you tried the fuse on the back of the gamma
