Its looking more and more likely yeah :) I don't know what yet, either an ABF, VR6, 20VT or a PD150.............

Before that though, I have to sort out a few things.

Exterior:

Paint and fit wings

paint doors

Replace and paint O/S Sill

Interior:

Find and install electric window loom

Install heated seat loom

Purchase two more window mechs and motors

Install VR6 leather doorcards

Running gear:

GTI rear beam and G60 rear brake conversion

GTI front wishbones and ARB

VR6 Calipers and pads with G60 discs

Once all this is done, I can think about which engine I want to roll with :)

Haha, seeing as I am keeping it now, and I have to have something to do on it, that's all I have left to do! I never planned on taking it this far LOL. However, I have pretty much tracked down the front wishbones, rear beam and window motors. I just need to get a price for it all tomorrow :)

Good plans there mate,

as for the running issue I've got similar problems...I've been following a thread in the mk3 section, there seems to be so many options that links to the same problem, from replays, to ecu temp sender, earthing points, coil etc etc...the only pattern that I have found, is its always the last thing you replace cures the problem

Good luck

I myself got a Golf CL 1.4 just for a cheap run around but brought a few things on Ebay and planning on buying a few more things lol. wish i was good at painting need to colour code some bits. may i ask how you moved the aerial from the front of the car to the rear? Thanks.

Thanks for the great comments :) I found a late model golf and salvaged the aerial and wire from it. After that it was as simple as taking a step drill to the roof ;) It was a bit nerve wracking but worth it as the wing aerials look horrible!

Agreed it really does look nasty on the side of the car. ill have to look in to it abit more. just about to take the rear wiper off and vw badge to spray that. (was winning an original mk2 wolfsburg badge but lost out) early days yet but enjoying it. Good to hear you never sold the car mind.
