Demand they replace them as a pair as it's downright dangerous to replace only one

Well today was an interesting day.  Took my car in to VW Hereford (who yet again never fail to impress me) to have the shock absorber replaced and was told that its not leaking and there is a TSB on oil on the shaft of the shock absorber which is expected functionality.  So 1.) VW chelt have no idea what they are doing. 2.) They obviously cant read the TSBs

But the best news is that my car isnt faulty and hasn't had its suspension ripped out. Phew!

Good news. Still seems odd it had oil on it though.

They showed me the print out of the TSB with pics and everything.  Its only on the shaft not of the external body of the shock.  Which sounds logical as you would want shaft lube (oh err) for it to smoothly go up and down.

Great news! My cars booked in for next thursday, only for the clunking rear hatch, the waste gate rod and the knocking/tapping under my feet, i thought i'd try them with a short list first.

Good luck with the wastegate rod the parts on back order (I have the part number  ) and it keeps getting put back further and further.
The clunking rear hatch is it a thud it maybe the silly parcel shelf string ends hitting the sides of the boot.

Cor blimey! I told the service bloke what the rattle was hoping he might know what i was on about but sadly no! so from what your saying it's going to be a long old wait!?
The clunking hatch sounds like it's the latch itself, i had that thing with the parcel shelf in my mk5 but haven't heard it in the mk6 so thought they'd cured it?
