I'm sorry but if they had got copper grease on my seats they would have been replacing the cover never mind getting it off,  I would keep an eye on the material has it may go hard and bobbly if they have used corrosive chemicals to get the grease off?

Also inspect the cloth really close up to see if there is any grease stains like when you get grease on your clothes?

I had my driver's side window regulator replaced recently as the window was shaking and rattling in its frame when being raised. When I got home I opened the door and heard something rattling around at the bottom of the door behind the door card.
Turns out when they replaced the regulator they'd left the brackets or bits from the old one inside the door!!!! Quite unbelievable.
I do dearly love my Mk6 (and my Mk2) and, in fact, the whole VW scene (shows and so on). However, the dealers are doing their damnedest to put me off the marque again, just like they did when I had my awful Mk4s. It's such a shame that so many people get put off a car by avoidable niggles and crap dealer quality.

That is something I will be doing today (inspecting for grease stains), it was dark miserable and raining yesterday.

It makes you wonder what clown in their right mind would put dirty wheels inside a car with no covering on the seats or thought as to potential damage. It shows the standard of the dealership - any monkey working for me that did that would be in big trouble.

I have to admit on inspecting the car I cannot see where Ebley lifted the car, and cannot see any damage to underseal.  And I have looked at the seats and there seems to be no marks where they were cleaned.  Just need some frebreeze at the mo as the smell is bad.  Gotta drive with the windows down full just not to smell it.

I'd like to think it was a stupid mistake by the latest apprentice but somehow i doubt it! I have to agree with Darren though, i think i'd be demanding new seat covers.

I think I prefer the "They will not touch it again approach". 

Its now booked in to VW Hereford for the shock absorbers (they said they will confirm that the one actually need replacing before fixing them), this is where I usually go and I have never received poor service from them ever in 5 years.  I would recommend them to anyone.  I just never imagined that changing two wheels would bring such dispair.  Never mind lesson learnt.

Also I assume they have to replace the shocks in pairs too otherwise you end up with odd wear on the tyres and they will need to do the tracking.

Actually I DREAD anyone ripping the front suspension out of my GTD, it will never be the same. It drives in a perfect straight line at the moment, it is wearing the tyres perfectly.

You should be fine at South Hereford. They've been fine with my cars for the last 12 years.

Rumour has it they will only replace one shocker under warrenty? Surely this is just wrong.
