Left school at 16, with no qualifications because I was a lazy, trouble-causing little t*sser at that age and thought I was gonna play rugby league professionally, which didn't pan out after a couple of years floating around the youth teams at Leeds, Wakefield and Keighley. Turns out you need talent! Went to college to get my GCSEs and A-levels, and worked in the pub trade while I did that, glass collecting and then behind the bar. Finished college and got my A-levels at 18, went full-time in the pub I was working in and got promoted to deputy manager, got my GNVQ in hospitality management through work. Worked there until I was 22 in April last year when the company sold the pub off to developers which cost me my job, spent a month applying for every job in the pub game I could find but there was 50 people applying for every position because of the decline in the trade...
Applied for a job in a callcentre out of desperation, still there over a year later. Don't enjoy it but it's 18k for 37 hours over 4 1/2 days with massive sales bonuses and lots of promotion opportunities, far from fun but it's easy and pays the bills
