at least could drive this one!! if 5th gear is hard to find whats that an indication of? clutch? or the actual gears?

The only thing I would add is that it would be worth fitting a new set of timing chains when you have the engine out.

just spoke to the person listing the golf in the above link,

he says it does drive really well, and does eventually get into 5th so im thinking it is the linkage

so......im thinking im goiong to snap this up and see if he will take 350.
