Crank bolt has just sheared off!!!  :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry:

just inspected it, the woodruff key on the crank is totally shot to bits thats why the bolt has sheared!!!!

i am screwin

innit!!! going to take a drill to it

maybe just by a 16v now?? give my woman her dues she tryin to calm me down but im sccccrrreeeewwwwwin!!

not good mate i once shattered a cam shaft into bits on my old renault 19 16v just after a engine rebuild i was also gutted as i spent alot of money on the engine  :sad: hope you havn't done to much damage and you get it sorted soon  :smiley: Does sound like a good oppertunity to stick something else in there 'cough' vr6  :cool:

gonna be alot of hassle getting a vr6 in there wont it? same amount of hassle as a 1.8t

Why were you trying to get it out btw.

the crank bolt?? i werent. but when the car didnt run at first i took the crank off to make sure it was all aligning correctly

Do you mean the bolt that secures the pulley wheel on or the actual crank bolt as this shouldn't have been removed for setting the timing marks?
