MK 3 GTI Ignition Trouble Please Help

Ive got a mk 3 gti 2.0l had a problem with my starter motor and coil pack i have renewed them and im still not getting a spark. there used to be an immobiliser on it but that hs been removed properly. Has anyone got any ideas on what it could be thats causeing this problem.

crank sensor, relay or fuse.
You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.

cheers mate i know its sounds mad which relay and fuse is it because ive been trying tofind out but aint much on the internet

relay 30 and have a look on the maintenance section for the fuse list

thanks for that found the relay 30 going to replace soon all the fuses seem fine im a bit of a novice when it comes to cars but knw a lil bit.. if it aint the relay whats the crank sensor never heard of one of them before.....

Don't bother with the fuses - if the work, they work.

Crank sensor tells the ECU that the crank has rotated, so it can generate spark timing, etc.   No signal = no spark.

on the 8v its under the oil filter.   Typical fault is burn't away wiring from hot engine & oil leaks etc.

Are you getting a spark on the king lead?

even though its a new coil pack, this one could also be knacked!! get a volt meter on the main lead from the pack to the dizzy and you will know if it works

and electrocute yourself in the process.... :-(  The coil pack will be putting out > 40,000 volts.
