Dom's Mk4 Story So Far - it's all over!

Clutch on the GTI 1.8T and GT TDI's was a lot lighter than ones on my old mk3 engine

and the one on my S3 engine is suoer light too, hydraulic you see    your 8v wont have had that

Yeah, I got in the 8v this afternoon and it felt like there was a brick under the clutch after being in the mk4

Anyway, not had a chance to do much today due to fiddling with the mk3, but I did manage to put my golfgti.co.uk stickers in:



And also added another part, lets see if anyone can spot it:

It would appear that the car has previously had a G60 flywheel & VR6 clutch fitted. I found an invoice earlier for:

'Uprated/modified clutch and flywheel set - £590.39'

The clutch is considerably lighter than the clutch on my Mk3, I remember speaking to Wayne a while ago when I was first looking at Mk4's and he told me the clutch should be heavier than the Mk3. This would suggest the above set up has been fitted....anyone else car to confirm/deny this?

Obviously I know that there is no real way of knowing without actually looking, which I have no intention of doing

my standerd clutch was heavy.. now with vr6 clutch/g60 flywheel its much lighter plus revs alot higher through gear changes if ya get me

Missed this comment before! Yeah it revs pretty high through the higher gear changes, almost as if you still have your foot planted when you dump the clutch

Plate is back on now, I left it off when I stole the plate surrounds

Cheers, all in good time! I'm doing this one properly so it'll be a while before suspension is sorted, but it'll look great when it is dropped

The look small on the mk3, they'd look tiny on the mk4
