130's are both 5 and 6 speed btw.

Thought it was the 115's that were 5 and 6 speed?  :undecided:

I know the 130 engine in the Audi's were 5 speed only

My point.

I wasn't sure if we were just talking VW or across the range so covered both.

Went in one last Friday mate; Carbon had remapped it to 342bhp and just over 500lbs ft torque from 1800rpm

I would say the 130 is the best all rounder. Don't suffer from camshaft wear quite as much, higher torque than the 150 and less boost pipes to blow off.

the 130 is the better engine but very peaky compared to 150
i've had both and the 150 has a noticably longer torque curve but 130 is more eager

all pd's are weak if wrong oil used

i remember the 115's (the first real PD's) to be soft as 5hite so i'm guessing they all can have probs if not looked after.

It's not a better engine, its the same engine basically.

Better torque curve means nothing after a remap
