I do 60 miles a day on country roads, dual carriageways and through two towns and achieve 36mpg daily and thats doing 50-60 on country roads traffic dependant and a few MPH over the limit on the dual carriageways. Normally just slap it in 5th gear most of the journey and the MPG goes up.

Doing this though means I have to give it an Italian tune up once a week

lol.

Anyone noticed if redex makes any improvements to the MPG. The car has only been running for 24 hours in the past 2 and half years.

Thanks

I'm not a big fan of redex myself , maybe others think differently but i think its a bit like oil additives if the car's well serviced and use reasonable quality petrol should be no need for redex.

So is a standard 1.8T (150bhp) lol

not all of them. a mk4 is 150 bhp and 180 bhp

s3 is 225 and a a4 can be 130

And with a remap any of them will p!ss on a 16v Mk3

**Edit, with the exception of Glen's or any turbo'd 16v

mk4 gti 1.8 20v non turbo.....125bhp, fit a turbo and only gain 25hp  they all should be 180 standard.

Apparentely the non turbo 20V cams have higher lift than the cams used in the 18T.

Pretty pointless stuff tbh, The Doc & I dyno'd my mk3 with and without octane booster type thing and it made no difference whatsoever!
