Madness is doing the same thing over and over again, hoping something different will happen.

Genius is when something does happen.

Look very closely at the photograph.  Something is already happening.

interesting, I think you need to do that over a longer period of time though.

Yeah, a flower - not much use for an asparagus grower....

I wanted to get 24 hours really, but as outlined in the battery thread the non-genuine batteries torpedoed that. might have another go this week if the battery grip shows up.

buy a bunch of flowers (daffs will do) that are closed up, stick them in water in the window and they should open within 5 hours. much more intresting for a short period than asparagus. I think you would need to shoot for a couple of days to make the aspargus intresting.

+1 for the daffs

I'd say the asparagus would have to be over weeks

It's supposed to grow to the point it's picked in about 24 hours, which is why I was asked to shoot it. Can't help but feel that a dose of water might have helped things on their way.

On to bigger and better things - a local harbour has seen the clip of Cowes and wants their harbour shot. Anyone got any tips for super-budget motorised tripod heads?

Can't wait for Cowes week!
