sorry to hear about all 3 of your gtis being stolen, i was the unfortunate buyer of a stolen mk4 gti a couple of months ago i never thought how much stress it being stolen would have caused, i bought it as a 1.6 mk4 w reg turned out to be a 2.0gti x reg that had been stolen 3 years previous, it had been m.o.t'd registered etc for 3 years with the 1.6 number plates on
took me 24 hours and a lot of help from this forum to find out, i handed it in to the police as theres no way i could have sold it on and do to someone else what had been done to me. as it stands im just over 2k down and waiting for a date from small claims court
with the police closing the case and no one being charged and the car has been sold on by the insurance.
BUT on a brighter note it took me a couple months to get striaght but i now have a 1.8t mk4 so not too bad:)
my brother lives in a very posh area he had his house broke into the took a laptop and keys to the brand new 3 month old mazda 6 big sporty thing
on the drive, car was found 3 days later 100's miles away it had hit a tree,ppl were caught and linked to 50 other cars stolen in same way
they all need shooting
