I got mine because of forum discussion last year.

I had no idea how good they were until four days after they were fitted, when it snowed like blazes.  I was astounded by the amount of grip I suddenly had, compared to last year.  I went right back to the garage that fitted them and started raving on about how good they were!

I'm running around in the most diabolical conditions, without a care in the world.  I have a 100-mile Santa-run round trip planned for this evening in Central Scotland.  Not anticipating any trouble.

I'm a fan.  In fact, I'm deeply in love.  I can scarcely believe what a difference a change in rubber composition and a fancy tread pattern make.  You probably won't believe it till you try it either.  Your only problem will become the idiots without the things that get stuck in front of you.

Rolfe.

Rolfe let us know how the Santa run goes. Would be good to hear how it went, especially as your way is worse than down here!

I sat in a Mk 6 Golf Match shod with winter tyres yesterday. It was simply amazing how he flew around without a care in the world. I really could not believe it. Convinced me to buy new wheels and winter tyres last night after the drive.

Car was shod with Conti 830Ps on all four wheels.

Simply amazing.

My Bonnie wears them and all is very well, stuck to the snowy tarmac like glue.
By the way we are all set for a white Christmas (by that I mean more snow) except for Scotland who according to the media won't have any more - just floods

Shod mine all round back in late October and the weather has been no problem at all - really sure footed. Even kitted out my missus's car with them. You've nowt to lose because if you decide to buy them and subsequently decide to change your car, just sell them on as there will be loads of people willing to take them off your hands. My guess is you won't sell once you've tried them

The drama at Heathrow is amazing. A total fcuk up. Shambles. Maybe the planes need snow tyres. As grit cannot be used in airports as it damages planes, they are in a pretty pickle.
Waiting for my Christmas guests to arrive from Athens. They cannot even get to the airport there as everyone is on strike! Only the taxi drivers are making a fortune.
Today, the queue for the Eurostar in Kings Cross/St. Pancras was amazing. Half a mile long outside the station. Eight hour waits.
At least my journey home in the Polo took 17 mins! A first!

Keep the GTI - you'll regret it otherwise.

I am very impressed with my Conti Winters.
Traction is to be experienced to be believed.

I have seen loads of cars stuck or abandoned over the last few days, when I go out now my only worry is the car in front getting stuck.
They are amazing in the snow and put the GTI at least on a par with a 4WD in summer tyres.

Don't forget also the massively improved braking below 7 C.
