Probably just the order 'slot' so the car wasn't finally ordered.

This sounds about right, he didn't mention a build week so i guess it hasn't got one yet, i wonder if someone had cancelled there order and the dealer kept the car ordered as they knew they would sell it? He told me they had altered the spec on a car that was already ordered to my specification.

As for the vinyl wrap it's not my cup of tea but if you like it you do it, what a boring world it would be if everyone had exactly the same tastes

I've read every review going on the net that i can find

Least I can attack it with the hair dryer if it looks a bugger  My main concern is does the paint get score lines in it when they trim around the edges with the knife?

You should ask Penguin as he did this to his bonnet.

Where is he?

If you get someone decent to do it then no i wouldn't have thought so, only have experience of vinyl on work vans :undecided:

I'd of thought they would lay a whole sheet over the bonnet then use a hair dryer to make it pliable and cut the excess off in the panel gaps, so the knife shouldn't touch the paint. I could be wrong though.

Let us push this sad boat a bit further.
Maybe manufactures should not bother painting their cars but just vinyl wrap them so that customers can change the colour at will.
This is definitely not in my consideration.

Anyone know what colour is underneath the wrap on the RS500 focus? i've seen one with a couple of thousand miles on the clock and the front looked like it had been attacked with a cheese grater   stones plus vinyl... it's even worse than paint
