Least I can attack it with the hair dryer if it looks a bugger  My main concern is does the paint get score lines in it when they trim around the edges with the knife?

If you get someone decent to do it then no i wouldn't have thought so, only have experience of vinyl on work vans

I'd of thought they would lay a whole sheet over the bonnet then use a hair dryer to make it pliable and cut the excess off in the panel gaps, so the knife shouldn't touch the paint. I could be wrong though.

I watched something on t.v where they wrapped a lotus in a union jack ,they do cut the vinyl to size on the bodywork with a very sharp knife applying the correct amount of pressure  .
