Brillianter? Tut, tut.
Most brilliant, I would say, of all the marks so far.

Hence the brackets.

Did you own a mk5? I did - only got rid because of the leather.

Brilliant(er) meaning more brilliant than brilliant.
Not correct English I know, how about 'the mk6 is the most brilliant incarnation of the GTI to date'.

Mk5 is brilliant too, just not quite as brilliant.

Hate sitting on cow. Makes one feel like a bucking bronco. Uncomfortable on both hot and cold days. Never shopped in Land of Leather either. Additionally, in black leather, interior looks like an SS Officer's playroom.

We had a mk5 and to me (I stress me before it start an argument by the mighty mk5 boys) it just did not look like a VW GTI it was too rounded and tried to be too stylish/audi looking/euro style, I guess thats why it attracted so many ex BMW owners as it did not have the sharp lines of the original mk1/mk2 GTIs it was soft and round looking cute i once heard said. :embarassed: The mk6 has more crisp, sharper more meen looking lines to me. I don't think its the best GTI as theres too many cost cutting measures in modern VWs (from mk3 on) for it to be the best in my eyes as a engineer.

You're right twice.

The mk6 has sharper/nicer lines.
They don't make em like they used to.

I wasn't a massive fan of the mk5's styling but i didn't dislike it

I do however love the styling of the 6 a far cleaner sharper look

Popped into the dealer today to sign the order form and had a bit of good news...

Apparently they already had allocation for a car which was ordered and they have just amended the order to my specification
or something along those lines, so its looking like 4 months at the most apparently.
