Very difficult on a crease like that, hence my being on the lookout for a replacement tailgate.
We'll see how he gets on, it'll set me back around £50 to try and straighten that as much as possible.

Bet you could get another tailgate for near that amount, my rear dent is right next to a 90 degree bend that it's shifted by the rear light.  Not sure what to do with it. Joe managed to catch it perfectly in this shot.

Agreed but I have been searching since January and not one has come up in the correct colour nationwide! That's why, for now, I have resigned myself to trying to repair this one until one comes up.

Your dent looks like it can be filled and painted although very time consuming to get that perfectly right in that location

Fair enough.. As said, will keep looking to, might be worth you posting a wanted in our classifieds if you haven't already.

No sadly that dent has pushed the edge out so its slightly bent on the corner right behind the rear light.  You can see in the pic that the edge is closer to the rear light at the top than at the bottom, if that makes sense.

I suppose the only way to do it properly would be to find another section, probably from a donor car, cut out the damaged section and weld in the replacement. Then fill and make good.

I haven't put an ad in the wanted section..........suppose I should have done

If you can't get one in the right colour and decide you want one spraying we have a booth down the workshop over Basingstoke way. Sure me chap will be more than happy to quote it up to do.

Good option; I've seen plenty in different colours. Any idea how much I'd be looking at?

Thanks for getting the quote...........I now have options as someone has also responded to my wanted ad, with one in the right colour

Just waiting for location of this one in the right colour then I'll decide what to do. Think I may be cancelling the dent buster, although I have to say that I am tempted to see what he can do with it :undecided:
