If you think I'm leaving a teenager to walk a mile on a very snowy road in a temperature of -18.5C, with darkness fast descending and no clear footpaths, when I have a set of warm wheels pointed in that direction already, just because of some OTT elf'n'safety warning, you don't have a very high opinion of me.

It is that troublemaker Jimble who is to blame.

I wonder how Amanda is coping today with her winters.

The company I deal with in Hamilton was shut today as no one could make it into work. Conditions are pretty gastly in Lanarkshire.

Whitby(?)/North Yorkshire is also pretty bad from what I see on the news.

I think we need a dedicated review thread.

Basically were those that are running winter tyres can post reviews of their tyres, what make , size and models they are using and any difference they feel they have made.

There was one, but it had to be locked for reasons you well know.

Care to start another one specifically for what you have suggested?

Asker

Doing just fine on the new winter tyre set up.  However I managed last winter I'll never know, these tyres have tremendous grip and the confidence they have instilled in me is worth every penny of the £660 I spent on them.

Hi Amanda.

You always manage to post just as I am going to bed! Hmmm!

So happy that you have all the grip you need. You really need the best in your part of the world.

What a day. Forgot completely I had to give three hours of postgraduate lectures. Gave them with no preparation  and got a standing ovation! Blushed for the second time in my long life!

Then it took me two hours to get home as there was a major accident at the Chiswick Roundabout which buggered up traffic all over the bloody shop. Needed to have a spit (post nasal drip) but could not find a tissue. So, I very disgustingly had to lob it out of the car window. I unfortunately hit a cyclist with it right in the face. Serves him right for being too close to Wolfgang. He, luckily, did not know what and who hit him! What a shot!

As they say, when you've got to go you've got to go!

Nice and warm here in comparison.

Goodnight!

Yes dear I always log on too late for nocturnal conversations  Hee hee bet that cyclist was not a happy chappy, but as you say serves him right for getting to close to the red one   Glad you managed to deliver your lectures with some esteem by the sounds of it.
Take care, by the way another 5" of snow has fallen since 6 am. getting fed up with it now.
