Mk 5 - Fantastic car.
Mk 6 - Fantastic car but just that little bit better in every way.
I really liked my mk5, only problem for me was the leather.

Cheap, vile stuff they use in a Golf. Makes the inside look like a mini-cab.

More the winter freezing and summer way too hot thing.

My Jacara seats heat up soooo quickly.

Absolutely.
Take seconds to heat up and are cool in the summer.
How awful to have spent £2000 on a semi-leather interior and have a burning bum in the summer and a freezing one in the winter (even with heated seats which take ages to work).

I found the leather fine on the mk5 and even better on the mk6. I guess I've got a leather fetish! The cloth seats are very nice but I prefer the look of the leather for a bit more class.

Must admit im changing my mind about leather, Im starting to really like the idea. (Maybe i just need to go drive one of my old 50s/60s classics to get the leather idea back out of my mind). Maybe half leather for me would be better. I did like how the late mk5's, late 2007on, had leather standard. The mk6 GTI should have had half leather standard imo.

Shows a mk5 thats been retrimmed in leather for less than 1K which is tempting, not sure about the colour he picked though.

Ed30 seats were excellent in the Mk5 and you had a massager in the seat brilliant

Wow that's a nice job someones made of that interior. I also quite like the colour tbo.  Tan or cream leather looks very nice on the dark cars and black leather looks good on white and silver cars.

Wow  that retrim looks superb! Reckon in a couple of years when the cloth trims looking a bit ropey, i might look at getting the bolsters trimmed in leather with red stiching like an ED30. thats a great price too.
Currently pootling around in our family wagen, a Tiguan SEL 😂
