different 5th gears?

Did I read that you can change 5th gear for a different longer gear?

Yeh I have a GTI, I only want to change the 5th gear, not the whole box, I figure il save petrol, its not like I accelerate much in 5th so I may as well get the revs lower.

Not much point on an 8v.  I hear they get good MPG.  Are you one of the select few who choose the 16V?

you can put a diesel one in, but you need torques to make it worth it,  1.8 8v imo not got nuff torques
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Nah its an 8v, does a good 10 mpg more than any of my 16vs did. I miss the power abit tho.
