Door open!

I put 12V on pins 1 & 2 and I guess I got it around the right way as the lock fired up and unlocked the door

Got to go to work now but tomorrow morning I'll pull the module out and check those microswitches and in particular the soldering

Cheers Chris,

There's obviously something mechanically wrong as the door will only open from inside, probably mechanically unlocking it in the process. Won't open with the handle outside. Maybe driving the motor in the other direction will unlock it properly but I'm going to quit whilst I'm ahead, with the door able to open, and remove the module for further investigation. Play around locking and locking it off the door.

Any luck with that module Chris?

I removed my one yesterday and dismantled it. Sure enough two of the micro switch soldered joints had dry joints at the plug connection end:-

Re-soldered, reassembled and refitted and works perfectly electrically now. However, there is a mechanical problem that I suspect we have has for a long time that has only come to light since the electrical side failed. It will lock/unlock electrically fine (now), it will lock/unlock mechanically (using inside handle) fine, but if you lock electrically it will not unlock mechanically
So it's back together and working but if the electrical side ever fails in the locked position I could be in similar if not worse situation again.

So, if I can get hold of one at a good price then I'll replace it

Right back to the mk1...........oil pressure sensor to replace to get my VDO oil pressure gauge to work
