If there are enough coats of wax applied to the car, the tar will not need to be removed with clay/tardis etc. It should come off during the normal washing process.

I use the Toughseal system and any damage is reduced considerably. Even swirl marks are eradicated and cannot be introduced. So far, so good.

You can only apply 1 wax coat to a car.

but the boot and the back bumper seem to be the worst on mine! nightmare! thought tar was meant to stay on the road! lol

That type sounds like it may come off easier then, as it has'nt come directly off the tyre.  Try a bit of SRP or clay as suggested.

They resurfaced the roads with tar & loose chippings near us last October / November and both our cars were covered around the sills and lower door area.  Had to resort to Tardis and a Steam Cleaner for that lot

Please explain why only 1 coat can be applied, this doesn't make sense to me.

Wax does not 'sit' on top of wax, it cannot bond with itself. If you apply it twice, all you are doing is giving better coverage, so if you missed a bit from your first application its generally ok to apply it again for coverage. What you are not doing is applying a coat on top of a coat, its impossible to do.

I might have to disagree with you on that one. Why do all of the professional detailers apply one coat, let it cure, remove it, then repeat this process 3-4 times?

For coverage. And if they have to do this 3-4 times, they are either, a) talking sh!te, or b) god awful at applying it.

I've told you the answer previously, its up to you to believe it or not.
