To make sure they have covered the whole car.
The more wax you put on the more you are actually dulling the shine!!

There seems to be a split in opinion on whether any more than a couple of layers is doing any good at all.

I have a white car, so I apply wax twice. It's only because it's so hard to see on a white car and I just know I've missed a bit somewhere.

I did a couple of coats of Jetseal then 2 x wax a couple of weeks back and it was difficult to see where I'd covered.

Ava, if you have a white car, wear sunglasses. Honestly, it improves the process ten fold. It's still hard to see perfectly, but miles better than the naked eye.

White contains all the colours in the rainbow so your optical procesing is more easily saturated especially in bright sunlight.
Ever been to a sun drenched Greek Island with white houses everywhere? Blinding and then burning!
