Colour scheme is all wrong on the one posted above, but it does look good in 3 door
Here's the scheme VW followed:
Colour 1: rear quarters, roof, sills
Colour 2: front bumper, front doors, front mirrors
Colour 3: bonnet, rear doors [not applicable for 3 door], rear bumper
Colour 4: front wings
The rear hatch, from what I've seen in pictures, matched either the front wings or the front doors, so colour 1 or colour 2.
The grille usually matched the front wings or the rear quarters, so colour 1 or colour 4.
It seems a bit anal but the method they used made all the colours on the official harlequins really stand out without anything looking out of place or randomly painted. It works really well. Hope that helps

Sounds about right.

Volkswagen originally created the Design series to tour at International Auto shows. Due to the huge public response of the original four Design series, 60 more were produced. Eventually, 264 were made and offered in 1996.

Based on the 1996 Golf GL platform, the Harlequin model included: limited edition Harlequin paint scheme, limited edition Harlequin sport cloth seats, and silver-faced gauges. They were offered with several different wheel options.

One of the rarest VWs ever produced, the Harlequins were produced by swapping the body panels of four different colored Golfs. The are usually designated by their base color (the color of the car with no body panels attached). The base color is not repeated on any of the other body parts.

Tornado Red (LY3D) Ginster Yellow (L132) Pistachio Green (LD6D) Chagall Blue (L5D5) were the factory colours.

Do it, but use all different colors to the original harlequin.

You got your color, Dragon Green, a different shade of blue and maybe something a little brighter,

You will need mega lows to pull it off btw!

Cheers for the helpfull info guys! Really appreciate it

Thanks Jimp! Will be using that scheme me thinks

Cheers for the info Wayne, i'm going to take those colours and slighty change them a little bit to suit the colour of the car

Alex, that's the idea, instead or Tornado Red, it will be Hot Chili Red. Then the other colours i will change...I'm going to get all extra panels so if i do an EPIC FAIL! i can swap it back
