KR would require the same work as you outlined with the ABF but with the added faff of having to get the headgasket done.
Then you need to figure out how you are going to run KR on your existing ABF management.
You are posing the question is it possible to fit a KR with ABF management? Yes.
Is it pointful to fit a KR with ABF management? No.
You'll just end up pulling it out in a few months anyway or trying to sell it on with a bodged hybrid KR/ABF
TBH honest, to me, it's a no brainer wait for an ABF.
Or if you insist, I can sell you my 115k KR with a brand new VAG waterpump/ cambelt + all the other important new bits for 300.00
