Got the Millteks today together with some stuff from H&R. Never though just 30mm would make the car look so much better.

Nice. Sex on wheels is that!

Very Nice Awry - wish they did the Milltek for my GTD.  The one on the 3.0TDi A5 is awesome.

Thanks, I'm loving the new look. The quality of the Millteks seems very nice as well.

Anyway I'll have to rephrase what I said previously. I took a 30 min drive recently to test. The boomy sound comes between 3-4krpm. Not so much at 2k. At 4k upwards it sounds awesome. I am a bit worried though since the boomy sound seems quite much. Could it be that the original cat and milltek cat back doesn't work as good together as the full system? I've sent a mail to Milltek. Maybe they have an answer. :)

So can the 3" system fit the factory 2.5 " cat? Does it come with a reducer?

Did fitting this cause any problem with fuel map?

Yes it fits using a reducer and has no affect on mapping and very little affect on performance but does look gorgeous. The downpipe on the other hand makes a huge difference!

It's a shame you can't buy trims that look like those tailpipes.

Your silver GTI looks amazing in those pictures Awry. Whenever I took pics of my silver one it just looked bland. I'm not good with photos. Your photos are brilliant and bring the silver to life.

Thanks. :) Silver is very dependent on lighting. It changes quite a bit depending on the weather and as you've noticed it's quite difficult to capture the reflex silver. The nicest pictures I've taken are during the sunset when the sun is low on the horizon. Set the camera so it captures the reflected sunlight. It looks stunning. :D

Well it took some time before I got an answer from Milltek but they have come up with a solution for me. They are going to use the system from the Scirocco R. Everything is the same except for the rear silencer which they are going to exchange free of charge.

Here's a picture of the new rear silencer I'm putting on. The one marked with blue text.

Awry, sorry to go OT, but what H&R suspension are you running? You say you're down 30mm, is that just springs then? How are you finding it?

Cheers,
Scott

Actually they are surprisingly comfortable for daily use. The ride don't feel harder at all to me and you can easily tell that the car rolls less in corners. The only downside is that the car will be about 30mm lower and thus more unpractical in some situations. I have DCC and the Comfort mode has a funny feel to it. The original springs also had this bouncy feel to it when in comfort mode but I think it's a tad more noticeable with the H&R springs. I definitely prefer normal and sport mode on the DCC but use comfort when the road is bad and during winter with ice and snow.

All in all I'm very happy with the H&R though as they provide a good balance between everyday use and sporty driving. They definitely improve cornering which is great especially here in Norway where the road is made entirely out of corners... Car looks better to me as well. Just enough so it looks cool and not stupid low. :) The H&R partnumber is 28988-1.
