Looking for an 8V MK2 90spec or MK3

Right, if you had £1500 to spend on a MK3 8V, or a MK2 8v 90 spec. What car would you choose?

Do you know any good MK2/3's for sale at the mo? I've spotted a few but want to keep my options open!

Defo a MK2, but that's just because I think they are awesome in almost every way.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

Me too, you know of any really good ones up for sal around 1.5K? I've seen one so far, but i quite fancy a 3 door and it's a 5 door.

It's oak green though, mmmm tasty.
Anyone at all know of any good MK2's up for sale, please reply.

MAX budget of 1.5K, preferably lower :-)

mk2 mate, wait it out and browse a few forums classified. I got a mk2 oak green 2L 8v fully rebuilt engine well looked after for £900, you cant go wrong really. Things do break being old but if you aren't scared of using your spanners now and then you'll be fine. Just make sure it has well documented history and make sure the seller gives detailed info. Take a look underneath it and make sure you watch it start from cold.

For £1500 I'd hope to pick up a tidy G3 16V.  You're not looking for enough valves.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
