Hi Dave,

Got your email and have replied.

Being 100% honest it's looking like there is an early batch of Mk6's with a BCM (central Electrics controller) that is not able to support the LED's properly.

If this is the case then I will, of course, offer a full refund.

If your able to meet me tomorrow (as per the details in the email) then I will be able to confirm this

Cheers,

SteveP
I think mine is definately one of the ones with the earlier BCM. My lights were the ones fitted at Dave's house a few weeks ago just a couple of days before I flew out on holiday. When the engine is started the rear fog light flashes a few times and a warning comes up on the computer along with a bulb out indicator. I'll keep an eye on whether over time this causes power to be cut to other bulbs, but having just driven back from Gatwick a few days ago I've got used to the bulb out light being on all the time so will run with it.
The car is due a service very soon so it will be interesting to see what the dealer says about it. Probably just give me a bollocking for modifying my car followed by a lecture of how 'unsafe' it now is
Anyway the car looks much nicer with the new lights. Interstingly though, my car lights up all four lights when the brakes are applied (similar to some of the  motor show cars that had them fitted last year by VW) where Steve's car in his youtube vid only has the outer lights illuminate more brightly when the brakes are applied.

Mine's the same mate. All four lights come on under breaking but the outer lights are brighter than the inner ones and I have noticed that my front side lights are not as bright now either. Only noticed this the other day when driving after dusk.

Seriously considering replacing my bcm with a newer version as expensive as that may be, bulb warning light and message are starting to get on my nerves . SteveP - any recommendations on which version of the bcm I should get?

Hi Steve
Tried those settings but to no joy.  Actually tried several times but I am still getting bulb out warning light on dash, check rear fog light message in MFD and also when you start up the fog light rapidly flickers on several times for a few seconds. The VCDS autoscan shows -  09-Cent. Elect. -- Status: Malfunction 0010,  but doesn’t report any fault codes....

No fault code found.

My outer lights appear slightly brighter than the ones on the tail-lift, though only the outer brakes lights are coming on now. Front side lights are now much brighter.

Back to the drawing board?

Exactly the same as mine.
I reckon the only fix for this that doesn't involve a new control module is having a bulb wired into the fog light circuit.

Thanks for trying the other coding Dave.
