GAMMA HEAD UNIT & CD PLAYER - FITTING ADVICE PLEASE......

Hi All,

I've bought a Gamma Radio and a VW CD player to go in the dash ..................... I know, I know, I know ........

I'm taking out the Sony unit that is in there..............

So, I'll end up with a hole for the Gamma radion which seems straight forward enough. I have the code and a user manual.

At the moment there is a storage pocket where the cd will go............. ??

1. How do I get the storage pocket out

2. will the cd player just sort of slide in ?? ............. or is there other stuff I need ?

Any advice here would be greatly appreciated.

storage pocket will slide out - you might have to get a flathead screwdriver in at the edges to release some locking tabs

CD player will then slide in 

There should be a triangle divider between the two - not sure if you got that already

Thanks................ THis triangle divider ? .................... If there isn't one. is it essential or can I just use some kind of shim / spacer ?? ................ If not where can I get one ? ............. VAG dealer ?

Ebay, scrapyard, classifieds or the dealer 

Part number 1J0 857  725 C - no more than £10 from the dealer

I've fitted the Gamma Radio and the CD player .................... Made up my own spacer.

Couldn't get the radio to work at first then found this plugged into the cars power thingy that plugs into the radio.......... Apparently it's some thing you need when you fit an aftermarket radio. Tells the radio the aerial is 1.5mtrs long or somesuch thing.............



All I need now is some king of lead that I plug in the back of the cd player so it lights up when I swith the lights on ?? I think ?? .............. Haven't got a clue what this is about .................. Phoned a VW delear and that was trying to talk to the "perplexed" ................. Anyone know what this is, where I get one or what the part number might be ?

Hi All,

Still after lead that I plug in the back of the cd player so it lights up when I switch the lights on ?? I think ?? .............. I called into a VW dealer today and they had no idea what I was talking about.............

Does anyone know anything about these ?? .............. Have one kicking around they don't need or can give me a part number ?
