I had to wash mine again tonight for the 2nd time this week and its only Thursday. To be honest there shouldnt be any grit as such, its just fine powder.
Well yeah I think it is ash mixed with general road grit to be honest, but it looks a bloody awful mess
Prolly looks as bad on a white car as it does on the black of my Bonnie.

Gizzy dearest: Take it to your VW dealership, if it is conveniently close, as they must have a hand wash facility. You might have to book in advance, but worth it.

Eh?!?! Thought you said a foreign dude washed your car at your local VW garage and couldn't understand a word of English and made a terrible job of it and you had to redo it yourself?

I bought a snow foam lance especially for removing fine dust before going near it with a mitt!!

You must have a friend or relative who has a drive and access to a hose?!
I have no access at my flat (hence why I bought a silver car!) but my mums house is 15 mins away, and my fiancees parents house is 5 mins away - and they both have drives and hoses I can use!
Not ideal, but I guess it gives me a reason to go see my mum on occassion

Honey Child: They charge a fiver for a complete 'service wash' in London and it is 'free=£0' if you get your car repaired or serviced by them. I can give you the fiver!  Now don't typecast yourself!

You are too kind but I  am not a charity case. It is only that I don't have access to a hose but I will do as  P3eps says and cadge a driveway of a mate and give Bonnie a right good seeing too.

We are and we will. This is a given!
No need to be over serious all the time.
Just watch as we might soon get a vile and vicious reaction from someone hiding their frustration and dying to pounce!

p3asa: A hose in a foriegn hand is a hose in a hand.

But I am so glad you pay attention to my posts if only to trip me up.
What fun!

The rest of the cleaning drama was due to my very particular requirements which even an Englishman (who often have a very poor understanding our own language) would have failed to follow to the letter.

Yes: I may be too much of a task master for this very politically correct and modern world!

You know what I mean kiddo!

Wow you've lost me

Nope not trying to trip you up at all, better things to do in life.
Just remembered you saying it was going to VW for a wash then complaining about how poor it turned out. Just thought it strange how you now say it was "worth it".  You back on the house wine?!
