^^

MPG wise I have honestly not noticed any difference at all, if anything a slight improvement but this might have more to do with the weather than anything else as its gotten a lot warmer in the last couple of days.

MPG will improve the colder the outside air is as the air is more dense, thus more air will be be able to be drawn in with every stroke. This is why we have intercoolers. Otherwise it would be interheaters that would be required.

Ah but a colder engine needs more fuel injected / takes longer to get it up to temp.  It will run rich until up to temp...  MPG always gets worse going into the winter and better coming out.

Fail. As ub7rm says, to maintain the correct Air/Fuel ratio, more air means more fuel needed.

I guess if it says 95 on the fuel cap then stick with that, but avoid supermarket fuels..?

Ha Ha having said that I have filled my Ed30 with Tesco 99 Ron tonight instead of the V Power I have been using, as various people have mentioned it on the forum as the "other" choice for GTI's.

Must admit I assumed the R32 would be the same as the GTI though..  :undecided:

R23 lump isn't FSI so won't benefit in the same way the GTI engines will from higher octance.
