HI all, right when i have been on lock a few times say getting out of a parking space i set off then go to brake and the pedal goes to floor,them ok on second application, its like a front wheel bearing is calapsed and pushing the caliper back(check them) its the same fault as this http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=102205.0ive PM'd this guy, just waiting on reply, just wondered if anyone had this?

i have put the engine in(was a 2.0 8valve) and yeah i have done the cam belt why?

On a lot of mk4 platform cars there is a brake hose that runs alongside the plastic cover that you have to remove to do the cambelt. I have read lots of threads where people get there cambelt done and the garage bends the hose out of the way and forgets to bend it back where is should be resulting in intermittent brake failure untill the hose is bent back to where it should be. I dont know too much about this but as said i have read it a few times now. Apparently the master cylinders are bullet proof
