its a valuable option to be able to turn the map off or switch

Im sorry but I cant see why you would want to turn it off? Only reason I can think off is if your Mrs wants to drive it but if my 62 year old dad can drive my car without sh!tting himself I cant see it being a problem.

You can still drive a car just as easy with a remap . . .

this is true, my misses does occasionally drive my car and i just lower the boost. when i take the car to VW i put it back to stock so they dont rag the hell out of it. and when going away and leaving the car on the street i use the immobiliser although i realise these things do not interest everyone. if i was certain to stay at one stage of tune and wasnt bothered about being able to adjust the map then i would get an aftermarket immobiliser and something like a RTech map. we all want different things so this is why i think you need to research it properly so your confident you get exactly what you want for you monies, unless ofcourse you can afford to swap maps often like hurdy has. i think he has had 3 on his eddy and finally settled on the revo.

We do offer a tool the same as the Bluefin, with ori file, tuned file and kill file for an extra £180. But I would rather sell a remap on its own as its ther best deal for all.

So in principle its only cheaper because it doesnt have an anti theft or origonal vw map left on it?

Can see why your half price now.

Personally id rather have the ability to imobilise the car or put back to stock for garage/dealer visits etc.
You dont get something for nothing. Hense why its cheaper.

The device Nick sells comes loaded with your original map AND the tuned map and if you so wanted a further few maps thus giving you the ability to re-load your original VW map and not a tuner's version of the standard map.  It also double as a diagnostic code reader

I know from experience that the R-Tech map in the MK5 is just as quick and smooth as the equivalent REVO / Bluefin mapped cars and against a few of them is the quicker through the mid-range

End of the day its up to the OP to make his choice - we could argue whose map is better all day long but just because its cheap doesn't mean its no good

Do your research and if possible try and get a go in some mapped MK5's and make your mind up from there

Phil, a standard Revo remap will set to you back £499 and not give you the ability to swap between maps. You need to add another £149 to the £499 for the select switch.

Leigh Bennet had is ed30 done a few months back..  I am sure he will let you demo his car. Not much peak power but a HUGE strong torque band that offers power across the whole band when you want it. No nasty sharp spikes like some maps, Just linear mapping that aint going to catch you out in 3rd gear on a bend.
