Anyone used R-Tech on a Mk5 GTI?
« on: 12 February 2010, 15:55 »

Had my GTI a few months and am now looking to get a remap.

Realise most go the Revo, AMD etc route but has anyone used R-tech. Keen price with it seems a good reputation although they do seem to look after the older golfs more.

Thanks in advance

James

As Rhyso said I have also had mine done by R-Tech and as he also said it now goes like stink ! :D :D

Couldn't recommend them more, great service and top guys. Most MKV users seem to think they have to spend loads going to Revo or getting Bluefin but I just cant see the point. R-Tech did the same job at a fraction of the cost and offer a brilliant if not better service. Go for it.

RR Graph (note these figures are at the wheels. At the engine power was 242bhp & 265 lb/ft

As you can see it has a VERY smooth power curve

Getting it done:

Their old RR

In your oppinion of course.

Or buy a 2nd hand Bluefin handset from another forum user. (Spent £185) , even less the R-Tech and have even more smiles

But thats my own luck..

anyway...

Each map from these companys has its own Benefits, Do your research fella. Revo has benefits over Bluefin, Bluefin has its merits over Revo, Apr and others.

Ive gone with Bluefin as it keeps your stock map loaded to the Handset, and doesnt add to the cars ecu Flash counter, whereas others do add to the counter, which isnt good for making a claim under warranty.

Unsure if R-tech does the same as Bluefin tbh.

Was it £185 all in Phil or did you have to pay Bluefin for the actual map again?
