^^^ Yes better with Revo when driving normally, but with the remapped car you will be more inclined to enjoy the new found power

Question: why choose Revo and not Bluefin?

Simple, Revo software just works and they a genuine VAG tuner

I tried both Superchips/Bluefin and Revo software on previous cars and just prefer the way Revo remaps make the car feel.

Good enough.
Invaluable experience.

I paid 475 for mine, and got the switch free

If I was told tomorrow that my GTI could not be remapped it would be in the 'for sale' section of the local rag the same day. I dare anyone to try a remapped gti and not enjoy it. Too many people focus on bhp figures and not enough on the experience of driving one.

The low down grunt is what you pay your money for... and many fail to notice the improved economy

unfortunately this is true!

If the truth be told i use my car as a daily driver as I am sure many of you do. This can regularily mean tootling around in traffic when you very rarely get an opportunity to open her up. I find this is when you can see better mpg which is more than welcome.

If you are anything like me you will like to save up to nice high mpg then..... thrash the a$$ off it to get it down to a nice respectable figure you are happy to live with

Did I not read somewhere that you got a good deal because it had been sitting in the showroom for 3 months - or am I imagining that?  If so, I would very much doubt you'd have the XDS.

I think we have identified that not everyone wants to get their car remapped.

Great, it's definitely not for everyone but if you have bought a MK6 GTI you are performance oriented so unleashing the extra performance should interest you.  I must say that my car is a completely different beast now revo'd and I would never go back. If you haven't driven it mapped then you can't really comment on wheelspin/consumption etc.

If you drive it like a knob it will wheelspin up to third but deliver the power progressively and you will really feel the point at where your tyres loose traction and you can drive accordingly to deliver the blistering performance.

My wife didn't even notice the map as she drives at low revs and it has made the car more civilized and the MPG improved 10% also.

Like I said, blistering performance, improved MPG and a crisper more civilized power delivery aren't for everyone.

GTDs built from Build week 45 (start November) have the XDS so it depends i guess.

I agree. I came to the stock GTI from a 140hp TDI Eos, but was still slightly disappointed by the Golf when I got it last August. I had a Revo remap in September and it is MUCH better. Not silly power, just the sort of acceleration I had been expecting from a hot hatch. You won't regret it (though I must say, I don't really see the point of the switch...)
