Booked in for Revo Stage 1 for 2nd march
« on: 11 February 2010, 12:47 »
Booked in for my stage 1 map from revo and a switch at Monster Motorsport just off the M1, Any1 ever heard of them? Charging me £725,with a £50 deposit for booking the rolling road for the morning. includes a switch for stock and low grade fuels. 3hours testing with their rolling road. Prolly overpaying but ive been looking for somewhere for awhile and I feel the gti just needs more out and out pace. My enjoyment in the car has flatlined recently. Will post my graphs when i get them.

Whats your insurance premium going up by ?

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

You must not forget to inform your insurance company. If you have a prang, you have had it!
You will also affect your VW warranty. If things go wrong with your engine, VW will try their utmost to get out of paying! Get a cast iron warranty from Revo. Protect yourself.
Personally, I would not bother. But if I was to: then I would Bluefin instead. There has been a thread about this already.
Best of luck and enjoy the wheelspin!

My take on this:
A waste of money for negating VW warranty, insurance cost increase, unnecessary extra wheelspin, extra tyre wear, probable increase in fuel consumption, does not make the car look any better, cannot be advertised as a 260 BHP Gti (it would look so cheap).

that is one monster of a price too!!!!

revo software is c£500 and then £50-70 for a dyno run - you really don't need 3hrs on a dyno after installing revo - its a turn-key solution a simple 15min drive hooked up to vagcom is all you need

your not too far from revo hq you might as well go there and see if they'll will still throw in the sps switch free of charge

Now if the car was a GTD, with its lack of performance, then re-mapping might be a good idea to bring its performance up to GTi levels.
But then again the GTD does not have XDS! So its wheels will spin out of control!
This should get Steve30 started!

Hi Steve!
