Today i got busy making a custom cold air feed using the shell of a fog lamp, as neither of the fogs are wired in anyway.

Bumper off car:

The messy dining room (im in so much trouble)

The fog lamp:

Taking the projector out of the front casing:

Prised the tabs off to remove the projector lens:

Scraped the sealant off the projector back, to prise open tabs retaining the lens holder in place:

Cut the back off the projector shell:

Trial fit of 50mm cold air feed. Will extend to around double this length. It didnt hold with a jubilee clip as the projector shell is tapered, so superglue came into play:

Smashed the glass off the fog lamp front to reveal inner shell:

Painted projector shell and fog lamp front:

Clipped back together:

Installed:

^ finally got the chin spoiler back on, but the stupid pattern bumper is slightly too slim on the corners, as the spoiler wont clip in all the way  nothing a bead of black sealant wont fix!  :lipsrsealed:

I don't think a semi will give the same results

got cracking today and refitted the new front end including new bumper, salvaged (rust treated and painted) front panel and new 4 lamp grill:

green stripe grill and headlamps off:

old slam panel off:

tidied the wiring looms up. they come out of the chassis legs (around 6" back) and needed protecting, so got busy with the orange conduit again:

put the upgraded headlamp loom relays inside their new home:

stuck it onto the inner wing (as in hindsight i made the +ve and earth wires a bit short, so nowhere else to put it)

new slam panel on:

headlights on:

then i realised, whilst tidying the wiring looms, i'd chopped off and concealed the o/s/f indicator wiring! i thought it was the fog light wiring. so i had to dig it out of the conduit and make another connector:

after a bit of swearing (and now a bad back) its all back together, c/w the fog light CAI:

CAI runs up here, 50cm is just right!

also
- i now have spot lights connected up (the OE plugs from the H4 plugs had been chopped off, so found some more plugs)
- the horn now has an OE connector
- the wings sit better around the grill

yay.

looking good dude, great when a plan comes together.

cold air feed looks really neat. Is the pipe easily replaceable with the bumper installed? it is a little flimsy that stuff. i cut a hole in the chin spoiler of our first track car and used the same stuff to feed cold air to the calipers (possibly did nothing but looked hard as feck!)

didnt last very long though.  not trying to wee on your bonfire, just a thought.

well the pipe is glued onto the projector casing... so i'd have to remove the fog lamp complete

hopefully it will last
