I can't make up my mind now- OEMretros doing fiscon + rns510 would be about a grand and be BCD and OEM, but the partial postcode Finding would be pants- I'd hate to pay that money and still end up using my Tomtom 940!

I'll probably go with the kenwood, as for around £1300 you get blue tooth phone and music streaming, and a generally better satnav, bigger screen too, will still work with the steering wheel and rear view camera if I get one
Just sold an S5 - previously mkV R32 DSG Metallic Grey with RNS 510 (thanks to MortyGT140)

I know how you feel.

The RNS510 has too many niggling problems. What really annoys me is the partial post code search.

Have you thought of the Zenec system which you can buy from Car Audio Security for £899.99? This is an all inclusive price less the fitting. Brilliant company for Sat Nav fitting. They also sell Kenwood, Pioneer and others.

Well I've ordered the kenwood, unit, iPhone connection for charging, integrated parrot Bluetooth phone integration of steering wheel buttons etc fitted for £1300 brand new from Road Radio in Crawley/ Redhill

pretty much the same as a reconditioned mfd3 with fiscon and iPod connection, but for my money better sat nav and bigger screen. Gadget show's top pick too :)

Probably need it!
They seem quite knowledgeable and come down to London once a month to fit the Sat Navs.

Have they actually answered your enquiry if you have contacted them?
There was a thread running on either this forum or another VW forum and they were basically un-contactable. No amount of emails or phone calls would see them making a reply!!!

dont mean to pee on your bonfire donnie, but what exactly does that unit offer better than the rns510 other than a slightly wider screen and full postcode search... for double the money?? not to mention a very aftermarket look?

It's got built in parrot Bluetooth (so no need for fiscon @ £380), full 7" screen so no buttons either side, and iPod connectivity cable kit (£200 ish)
main thing for me is the full postcode, as I hated the short version on bmws.

Im quite sure the fiscon can be fitted for £300-£350. although it can be annoying not having full post code search... having the street name and house number will get you direct to the door. Ipod connectivity cable is std anyway as far as i know. Did you know you can import all your favourite addresses from google maps to the RNS510 via the SD card also.
