yeh, i cant afford an audi, or a good skoda, or a good seat. definatly cannot afford a bently, lamborgini, porcshe or bugatti

Since 1993 i've had 3 Mk1 Golf GTI's, 3 Mk2 GTI's, 1 Mk3 GTI, a Mk3 VR6 Hiline, and a Mk4 GTI.  Plus a Mk2 Rocco 16v, and a Mk3 derv van.  Currently driving a Golf Mk6 1.4FSi courtesy car until my Mk6 GTI turns up.

I've had the use of other car's with various company's that I've worked for, but I just cant get away from VW.  Solid and reliable.  Peugeot's are too tinny and weak, Vauxhall's break down, and Fords are full of plastic. (in my experience)

i drive alot, i love cars, i like my cars to work, i feel safe wrapped in german steel, but would rather not be labled a d!ck for driving a bmw or merc
ive driven alot of other cars, some were very quick, some were very pretty, but none of them were VAG, so i could never work the lights or wipers, or find reverse gear. and i also like the fact that when i crash my beloved corrado into a wall, i just swapped a load of parts over to my mk2. when my mk4s boost pressure censor went nutz, i took it too my mate at audi, and he could fix it. and most importantly, i get the company of you lot on here  lol

don't get me wrong, but I'm obviously a VAG kind of guy otherwise I wouldn't be on here but there are some cars that are better than VAG equivalents.  For example, my wife drives a Zafira.  Why not a touran?  Because the zafira was better.

I've owned a Pug 106 GTi, a saab 9-5 aero, a land rover defender and a ford sierra XR4x4 (with twin turbo)...and I came back to VW each time knowing that bit more about the world that is cars.

i dont doubt for a second that many of the competition have out done vw in many ways, but vw made the first hot hatch. they also made 50mpg look uneconomic. they made a diesels engines that make petrol engines look like mopeds, they made the worlds fasted car, they made the worls most desirable cars, they made the vr6 (and vr5) both of which make ure pants damp to listen too, the w8, the w12, the w16, the v10 and v12 tdi. so i trust them to make my little normal persons car to very high standards

Fiat common rail tec is and has been streets ahead of VWs for years the only reason VW went PD actually had to do with the VR engine. I will get to that bit in a minute

Depends who you talk to i desire a ferrari more than any VW group product and im sure im not alone in that.

All infringed on lancia copyright of the narrow angle V engines. VW got took to court over it and its one of the reason unlike everyone else they went PD rather than common rail for the diesels as they did not want to pay fiat the rights to use CR. They do now though.

I maybe a HUGE VW fan but.......
