Yh i guess depends if you want it lower down the rev range which is probs better for driving around town etc.

and if not, fit a mk2 gti tank with in tank lift pump and undercar injection pump. Job done.

The loom is pretty much plug and play so long as its a 90spec engine.

i dont really see any major issues with it, 2-3 days work max, and thats to a mechanical monkey like me!

Yes but you will need a donor car really as you will need wiring lom and ecu plus brakes etc, also you will only gain 25bhp.

We worked out for Spady that it wasn't such a hard conversion. Gearbox is the same, ECU needs swapping but if it's a late car there wasn't much in it.

Decent discs and pads for the brakes, it's only 25BHP.

Agreed. If you're swapping a KR into a Mk3 with a rod change box, I can't imagine there'd be any huge issues. Even if the loom isn't completely plug n'play, the K-jet is electrically the simplest injection system.

MK3 fuel pump isnt good enough so you need MK2 k-jet under-car pump. MK2 pump can fit I think as the MK3 filter housing fits the MK2, just MK3 has only 2 studs under there not 4.  you could fit MK2 tank and lift pump, or I guess the MK3 main pump could be plumbed in, i recon excess will just be returned to tank.

then airbox will need some tweaks to fit, shouldnt be hard. perhaps corrado or passat 9a airbox would fit better, just swap kr metering flap onto it as 9a metering unit totally different.

last hurdle is the cat, the kr will kill it as its not designed for cat operation in mind. however since engine is old enough to not require it you can legally decat the car.  however onus is on you to prove to mot tester age of engine, vw might be able to supply a letter if you can get the engine code off the block.

I always believed the cat regs were on the age of car not engine or is that wrong.
