Please don't make it a pissing competition again!
Every one that has a GTI loves theirs I think, and the R people are happy with their choice too, no need for all this overpriced/ overrated business is there?
So far my GTI has come with the wrong trim on a door, had to wait for the RAC by the side of the m1 for an hour or 2, has now got a cracked windscreen, and been semi hopeless in the snow, (but good on ice!!)
Had it 4 months, done 11,000 miles now, and we love it to bits, despite the issues because its effortless, comfy and fast, and no rattles, unlike my mk5 r32
However that doesn't mean if someone gave me an R I'd say no!
I had an Astra VXR before that, much more fun than the GTI, but more because you never really knew if you would be in a ditch or not when it went supersonic (the same reason why my missus hated it!)
That said, those pics of the R need retaking when the suspension is back to how it would be.
Look forward to seeing an R soon on the road, moving to Scotland this weekend, think the roads will be better for stretching the GTI a bit, but unsure where most Rs will be found to have a bit of fun with!
