So i went back to the dealer with the 2 R's
« on: 14 January 2010, 16:12 »
As the title says i went back to the dealer were i spotted the silver and blue R's :smug:
I asked them are they for sale and he said yes sir you can take one home tomorrow if you want one.
He then went on to tell me there were 6 in the country at present available for purchase.
He let me go and take some pics and then booked me in for a test drive for one hour later.
The spec for anyone wanting to purchase one of these 2 are

  3 Door manual/ silver       5 Door Manual/Rising Blue
  Adaptive Chasis               Flat tyre indicators
  Sat-Nav
  flat tyre indicators

So turn back up for the test drive and he made me go through all the spec i wanted, then said can we do a deal today. I said no and he said right i'll get the keys only to find out that neither of them had been  PDI'd  so i will have to wait until tomorrow.

Anyhow here is the couple of pics, with the transport blocks still in.   ( I hope )

Silver looks nice from the front. Which colour do you prefer in the flesh TC ?

They both looked nice colour wise, i am not a fan of silver but the LED lights against the silver were stunning.

I think the silver one was just under 34k and no discount available.

^^^^^^^^^ +1.

What's the blue like in the flesh...?
MKV GTI | Reflex Silver | 5-dr | Anthracite 17" | Manual | Highline MFD | Cruise | Revision 'D' DV | Dirty Pipes |

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

Looks very subtle in silver - don't think many people would even notice it isn't just another Golf. List price for the options mentioned above is £32,985. Hope they aren't loading the prices already!

The blue looked better today, it was dull and the paint was dirty, but i think polished up it would be gorgeous.

I'm probably goin to get torn to shreads here but I think the R looks cheap. The front styling looks like something you would get from a standard Golf. The alloys I think are terrible compaired to what you get on the GTI and did get on past R32's, regardless if they are the 18's or 19's. Nice rear end but thats it. When a GTI is coming towards you or up behind you then you straight away realise it's a GTI but I don't think you'll get that with the R and that isn't right considering the money they cost. Nothing stands out to me.

Does anyone agree or am I on my own with this?????? :lipsrsealed:
