And i was just speaking to some polish geezer but it sounds like he's chattin a pile of shyte.

Basically he said that if it was him he wouldnt be putting the head of a different car onto his and that if his head-gasket ever went then he would put a new engine in it. Because, If its over heated then it could have f**kked the pistons and it may keep over heating again and again. and you can pay the same price for the work being done to get a new engine and get it fitted.

i said to him that would mean that everyone who has a head gasket gone should change there engine? he didnt really answer but he said to ask someone lol.

can anyone let me know exactly what i should be getting? Its only i havn't had much involvement in the internals of engines.

I know now i need the head, and the head should have the Cams in? and also is there anything else i need with the cams? and i need to get the AGU head skimmed and tested? and then i need head gasket, New intake manifold and new injectors... And then a new cambelt and water pump?

instead of getting a agu head, would it not work out cheaper to have your head ported and polished?

Polskie talking rubbish bud, i've replaced head gaskets (proper job, skim head/replace worn valves/full head gasket set injector seals etc/water pump and new belts and bolts) and the engines felt like new and ran on and on!

Although there was this one time when i ripped a cam seal upon refitment and didn't realise until after i'd been fooking around doing donuts on the trafford centre car park when my oil light came on and the big ends sounded like two monkeys smashing hammers on my engine

Oh yes you want the complete head gasket set and not just the head gasket, if you do it properly the first time you won't have to do it again!

You only need to replace the valves that are worn should be around £8 each and there maybe a couple that are sharting to wear at the seat, the machine shop that skims your head can check/replace everything it shouldn't cost too much and they will fit the new stem seals that come with the head set while they are at it

Yea i was thinking that too, will have to try and find a way to make aum injectors sit in the agu inlet?

I'd do what topher said and get the aum ported, probably cheaper than buying a new head anyway...
