Buy a set of coilovers and drop it the amount you want then if you dont like it you can change it to suit your needs? Thats what i would do!

Fitting just springs is pointless to honest, you will end up replacing the shocks as they will fail with working under shorter travel.

yeh very true but on most of the uprated shocks if you buy the cheap ones they last just as long, ive found that out in the past. I know that i could get hottuning coilover etc.. but i havent, ive just bought the springs for now as im short of cash to throw at a car. I just wanted a quick fix to i high car if you know what i mean. If i had the money the car would be slammed and on some nice bbs splits, but im not gonna slam it on these wheels that came with the car because i would look like a little boy racer, i want it to be abit more sutble.

Boring answer  - but I ran on 205/40 R17s for a while - only a slight improvement in handling and the tyre wear was rapidly increased. The wheels were also significantly heavier than stock, even if they were alloys, and therefore affected the unsprung weight and compromised the shocks and springs - in other words, I did not know better than VW who spent millions on R&D so I swappped back to stock asap.

To the OP

-40mm G-max all round on 17's

Is this the kind of thing you were after?? Not quite 40/35mm but near enough

I think you'll agree it doesn't look like a Landcruiser and yet still really comfy
