From all the 'first drives' I've read so far, the Golf R sounds exactly what I want. Refined as a Passat on the motorway, faster and better to drive that the Golf GTI, subtle to look at, and not chavvy and loud like a Focus RS.
Ideally it would have been £3k less - but hey ho!!!
