For any upgraded turbo you would have to go for a "stage 3" map - ie either a custom map or a map that has already been developed for the upgraded turbo. The turbo may fit, but would probably be better fitted with the manifold and downpipe off the 170 too - and then you would still have to delete the DPF.
I can put you in touch with someone who can supply and fit the correct hardware & remap for what you are looking for. I think you will need bigger injectors too, so it's best to get your research done before you decide on your next step.He has done quite a few larger turbo upgrades and has just finished a 300+ bhp conversion on a 1.9tdi.PM me if you want his details.
What's the hardware spec of that?
Quote from: Rhyso on 02 January 2010, 17:21What's the hardware spec of that? Pretty substantial - strengthened & coated pistons etc... with a huge custom scroll turbo (with variable vanes) - a K04 next to it looks like a toy! Custom manifold. Apparently the additional power comes from the injectors - they're the largest set possible for this engine and aren't even used by the VW cup racing teams (I think there's only 1 set in the UK). Started life as a 170tdi.I would guess the best part of £10k including the labour!
Is that a VW engine then? 170bhp TDI = 2.0
