DPF? Whats that? And how would i find out if it has or not?

Diesel Particulate filter is fitted to the downpipe from the turbo

removing it can throw up a fault code unless you get it mapped out

Only way to check would be to visually inspect or ask your local dealer to confirm if one was fitted  :undecided:

The 2.0 litre engines are all common rail, so the OP's 140 would be common rail. The other mk5 diesels were the 90, 110 and maybe (not sure) 130 1.9 PD engines.

Both my 140TDI's were PD :smiley:

yep - you won't get more peak BHP but your average BHP will increase about 10bhp across the rev range and torque will be meatier too  :cool:
